Right Stuf’s Nozomi Ent. Antique Bakery Site Presents Japanese Snack Reviews’ “Top 10 Snacks”

Right Stuf, Inc. and its Nozomi Entertainment division are pleased to present “Top 10 Japanese Snacks,”a new piece by Shari Custer of Japanese Snack Reviews, at antique.rightstuf.com – the official site for the ANTIQUE BAKERY anime series, which is now available on DVD.

In this new article, Custer shares, via both commentary and photographs, a detailed list of which of the more than 700 different products that she’s sampled are her favorites.

Shari Custer has lived in Japan and worked there as a writer, graphic designer and teacher for 21 years. She started Japanese Snack Reviews in September 2008, and she writes about and photographs treats, ranging from savory to sweet, more than three times a week. Custer also writes at 1000 Things About Japan, and her thoughts on life in Japan can also be read in the Tokyo Journal magazine.

The Antique Bakery DVD Collection is now available and features the complete, 12-episode television series in a single DVD box set with Japanese audio and English-language subtitles.It is housed in a collectors’ art box, and its on-disc extras include the clean opening and closing, live event coverage, and an interview with AKB48 member Tomomi Kasai, who voices a supporting role in the series. Additionally, the set includes a booklet that contains character bios, quick facts, featured desserts, and two interviews with all four lead voice actors, as well as manga creator Fumi Yoshinaga(Ōoku: The Inner Chambers, Not Love But Delicious Foods Make Me So Happy!).

Antique Bakery aired as part of Fuji TV’s popular noitaminA animation block – home to series including Honey and Clover, Paradise Kiss, Moyashimon (Tales of Agriculture) and Nodame Cantabile. Fumi Yoshinaga’s original manga received the 2002 Kodansha Manga Award for shoujo (girls’) manga and also served as the inspiration for both a live-action Japanese television drama and a 2008 live-action Korean film adaptation. The Antique Bakery manga is published in North America by Digital Manga Publishing and was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2007.
