ReedPOP, today announced that tickets for New York Comic Con along with the second annual New York Super Week will go on sale online beginning Wednesday, May 13 at 12:00 PM EDT. This year fans will have three options to purchase tickets for New York Comic Con, including online at the New York Comic Con website, on-site at Special Edition: NYC 2015 on Pier 94 June 6-7 and an event at Midtown Comics later this summer the exclusive retailer for NYCC 2015. New York Super Week takes over the Big Apple October 5-11 with the crown jewel event, New York Comic Con, taking place October 8-11 at the Javits Center. (more…)

Viz Media announced four of its critically-acclaimed titles have been nominated for the 2015 Will Eisner Comics Industry Awards, as announced by the awards committee. The nominations include HELLO KITTY, HELLO 40: A CELEBRATION IN 40 STORIES for Best Publication for Early Readers, as well three nominations for manga (graphic novel) in the category of Best U.S. Edition of International Material – Asia. These include ALL YOU NEED IS KILL, with original story by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and art by Takeshi Obata, MASTER KEATON, Vol. 1 by Naoki Urasawa, with story by Hokusei Katsushika and Takashi Nagasaki, and ONE-PUNCH MAN, with story by ONE and artwork by Yusuke Murata. General admission as well as V.I.P. passes are now available for The J-POP SUMMIT, the Japanese pop culture celebration held annually in San Francisco. The 2015 J-POP SUMMIT will begin with an Opening Night Premiere Screening event on Friday August 7th at The Castro Theatre, and also take place Saturday and Sunday August 8th and 9th at the historic Fort Mason Center in San Francisco’s Marina district. The Right Stuf’s affiliate program has been around since this site was created… the program will finally shut down on May 1, 2015 detailed in an email by Right Stuf president Shawne Kleckner. Honestly, I am surprised that the program has lasted this long. Mr. Kleckner also mentions that, Right Stuf hopes to bring the program back in some form in the future. Don’t hold your breath folks.
