Saturday, February 25th, 2006

ADV Films, at the NY Comicon, announced that they have aquired the licenses to two anime: “This Ugly Yet Beautiful World” and the Area 88 1985 OVA series (3 episodes). I don’t have much interest in either anime myself, but those who have been watching the recently released Area 88 TV series will be happy that the old Area 88 OVA will finally be released.

Another one bites the dust.

New FUNimation Anime Licenses Announced!

Saturday, February 25th, 2006

Back on February 18th, FUNimation announced at Katsucon that they have licensed Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, which will be called “Rumbling Hearts” in the US. The first volume is expected to be released in October 2006. On February 25th, at Megacon, FUNimation also announced that they have licensed the Fullmetal Alchemist sequel film, which will be released on DVD in October, alongside the 13th and final volume of the TV series.

I’ve heard good things about Rumbling Hearts, so I’m definitely interested in that one. And I assumed FUNi would get the FMA movie considering they have the TV series, but it’s nice to hear confirmation on the matter.
