Right Stuf & Kadokawa Pictures USA to Release “The Third.”

Anime producer and distributor The Right Stuf International announced at New York Comic Con that it has been selected by Kadokawa Pictures USA to handle North American production and distribution for the 2006 anime series THE THIRD: THE GIRL WITH THE BLUE EYE (’The Third - Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo’). Central Park Media announced that it will be re-releasing and re-pricing the Cat Soup Collector’s Series Edition DVD this April. Priced at $14.95 SRP, this special collectible version of Cat Soup includes a limited edition liquid art pack as a bonus. This award winning film chronicles the amazing and sometimes bizarre experiences of two kittens as they travel far from home. In addition, the action adventure tale Fencer of Minerva: The Emergence will also be re-released in April and re-priced at $9.95 SRP. The order date for both titles will be March 27, 2007 and the street date will be April 24, 2007. Fencer of Minerva: The Emergence will have English and Japanese language tracks with English subtitles.

Afro Samurai Showcased at NYCC

New York Comic-Con (NYCC) 2007, taking place in Manhattan’s Jacob K. Javits Center on February 23-25, is pleased to announce the attendance of Takashi Okazaki, Fuminori Kizaki, Taito Okiura, and Eric Calderon — the Creator, Director, and Co-Producers of Afro Samurai. Okazaki, Kizaki, Okiura, and Calderon will all appear as part of New York Comic Con 2007’s Anime Program, discussing their work on the ground-breaking series on SPIKE TV and presenting never-before-seen clips from Afro Samurai. The five part series is produced by Japanese studio GONZO in association with GDH K.K. and FUNimation Entertainment. (more…)
