Viz Media announced four of its critically-acclaimed titles have been nominated for the 2015 Will Eisner Comics Industry Awards, as announced by the awards committee. The nominations include HELLO KITTY, HELLO 40: A CELEBRATION IN 40 STORIES for Best Publication for Early Readers, as well three nominations for manga (graphic novel) in the category of Best U.S. Edition of International Material – Asia. These include ALL YOU NEED IS KILL, with original story by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and art by Takeshi Obata, MASTER KEATON, Vol. 1 by Naoki Urasawa, with story by Hokusei Katsushika and Takashi Nagasaki, and ONE-PUNCH MAN, with story by ONE and artwork by Yusuke Murata. General admission as well as V.I.P. passes are now available for The J-POP SUMMIT, the Japanese pop culture celebration held annually in San Francisco. The 2015 J-POP SUMMIT will begin with an Opening Night Premiere Screening event on Friday August 7th at The Castro Theatre, and also take place Saturday and Sunday August 8th and 9th at the historic Fort Mason Center in San Francisco’s Marina district. Right Stuf, Inc. is excited to announce an exclusive distribution deal with Japanese anime producer and distributor PONY CANYON INC. This new agreement will see high-end, collector-grade Blu-ray, DVD, and merchandise items from Pony Canyon distributed in the United States and Canada for the first time by Right Stuf. VIZ Media expands its publishing roster as it announces the acquisition of the supernatural action manga (graphic novel) series, TWIN STAR EXORCISTS. Created by Yoshiaki Sukeno, TWIN STAR EXORCISTS is set to launch in the Summer of 2015 and will be published in print and offered digitally under the company’s Shonen Jump imprint. TWIN STAR EXORCISTS is rated ‘T’ for Teens. The series, which has released 3 volumes to-date, is ongoing in Japan. (more…)

Just received news that Hatsune Miku will be available to obtain in the new update for Brave Frontier. Also Luka will be a free toon for NYCC attendees to obtain with code from the Brave Frontier booth #542.
